I don't update my journal nearly often enough.  This year has been nothing short of explosive.  I'm in the 7th year of owning my own photo studio and between weddings on the weekends and traditional portraits during the week I've disappeared from everwhere except for the studio.  I'm not complaining I know too many people looking for jobs or with less than satisfactory careers.  I love what I do but my passion has consumed me. Remember as a kid all the hours spent playing with the little green plastic army men.  They had battle after battle.  Sometimes they were the heros and other times they played second fiddle to other troops.  I've started a project to pay homage to them.  As a photographer I can always shoot still life so I thought I would up the anty and try to add some realism to the images.  The flames are real boys and girls.  The army men are custom modified.  The amount of fun I'm having do this is priceless. It is crazy how many photographs you can collect when you shoot both as a hobby and professionally.  As a matter of course we keep archived copies of the images that our customers order on hard drives both locally and duplicated off site.  This has proven to be a really valuable service to our customers who loose loved one unexpectedly and for those who face the most unfortunate circumstances of loosing their homes.  It has a price though in the time required to archive and maintain them.  Luckily technology has kept up with the growth of my business and I've moved from 500GB drives to 1 Terabyte drives and now to 1.5 Terabyte drives.  I have
